Background Analysis
In January of 2021, the City Council approved an interim use permit to allow a 112.5-foot telecommunications tower to be constructed on the site. The interim use permit was approved with a sunset date of November 30, 2021. The tower that was constructed is 100 feet tall. The applicant had hoped to find a permanent location for the telecommunications tower before November 30, 2021, but one was not found. In October of 2021, the City Council approved an interim use permit to allow the 100-foot telecommunications tower to remain on the property. The interim use permit was approved with a sunset date of November 30, 2022. Again, the applicant had hoped to find a permanent location for the telecommunications tower, but one was not found. The applicant is now requesting an interim use permit for three additional years, or to November 30, 2025.
